Things that don’t work in weightloss...
  1. Diets don’t work. Why? Because by definition, diets are short term fixes to long-term health problems. The first diet book was written 140 years ago by William Banting. And each year sees several new diets. Most diets are plain wrong because they don’t recognize that each person is different in his or her nutritional needs. At Shapes Weightloss Club, we have no standard diet.
  2. Calorie counting is useless if you are eating the wrong foods. If you eat all your required calories in simple sugars, you will gain fat and will have less energy. So the math does not really add up. The reason for that is that the human body has evolved to absorb glucose at a steady rate. All food is glucose in the end. So if you eat foods that are processed, refined, and too easily digested, you will raise glucose levels so high so quickly that the body has to send the unused glucose to store as fat. Also the insulin response system becomes strained. You can read all about the sugar epidemic at www.shapeshealthclub.com
  3. Your food dislikes reveal a lot about your health. At Shapes, we analyze why you dislike what you dislike which allows us to build your Shapes Bio-Chemical Profile. The Shapes Bio-Meridian Food Compatibility test will also reveal long-term intolerances which may be hidden.
  4. Simple diets that depend on cutting calories don’t work if you are suffering from a severe health condition. These include fibroid tumors, Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, (PCOS), Glucose Intolerance Factor, or medically diagnosed hormonal imbalances.
  5. Diets that promise you can eat whatever you feel like, and still lose weight. Advocates of these miracles are lying.
  6. Fitness programs that are designed by body-builders and super fit people don’t work Why do they often fail? Because they don’t understand that an overweight individual has limited energy, has no history of exercise and is afraid to go into a place where others seem to be fit. Most fitness centers are equipped with machines that are designed for body building. They don’t have people who understand weight loss. Weight loss fitness is very different from normal fitness. Next time, you go to an instructor, ask how many people lost weight doing his or her program. Ask them to show proof.
  7. If you exercise routine feels like a special and painful activity, then you are likely to give up. If you don’t have a history of exercise, then you should choose activities that you enjoy at least a little. Exercise is like food. If you don’t enjoy it, you won’t do it. Forget what the so-called fitness professionals say, exercise should not feel like punishment. At Shapes Weightloss Club, we offer more than 100 classes each week including fun classes like belly dancing and salsa.
  8. The latest to join our list of things that don’t work are fancy machines that promise a new body. At Shapes Weightloss Club, we have studied the claims and concluded that the slimming machines are quite useless on their own. Notice how the promoters ask you to go on a restricted diet.
  9. Using food supplements without consultation. You may be harming yourself by taking supplements without proper consultation. Each one of us is bio-chemically different. What works for one may not work for the other. Supplementing vitamins and minerals without a vitamin/mineral analysis may prove harmful. The Shapes Bio-Chemical profile will identify which vitamins and minerals may actually be indicated for you.
  10. Weight training if you are overweight. Since most fitness gurus don’t have a clue of what causes weight gain, they think getting obese people to do what bodybuilders do will work. If you are totally out shape, doing weight will not do anything to improve your visuals. First lose the weight and then you can tone up with small weights.
